Hello family! :) I would have to say that yesterday was wonderful! Thank you to all that were at mom and dads house so that I could talk to you. It was so great to be able to see you and speak to you. Just think, next time we see each other, it will be in person and I will be able to hug you all! What a wonderful thought! It makes me so happy! So, I am not going to lie, I was very trunky when I got done talking to you guys... and you could probably tell that while I was talking to you all. But, I am back in the game today and I am going to focus after we go branding tonight! Yup, you read that right! Sister Espiritu and I are going branding! I feel that I am getting the real experience of being a country girl! Feeding sheep, cows, milking cows, and now we get to brand. I dont think there is anything better than that... Okay there is plenty that is better. Haha But it still should be a lot of fun.
So, I think I will start off with what happened today. So we went hiking and that was a lot of fun. But before I get into that I want to tell you about a text that we received this morning from one of our ward mission leaders! He text us telling us that there is this 95 year old man in the nursing home who goes to church every Sunday and his wife is a member of the church. And Brother Farmer our ward mission leader was telling us that he wants to get baptized! So, all we need to do is teach him the lessons and he is good to go! We were so excited when we received that text message! :) He was also telling us about a lady who has been in prison and she is getting out soon and she wants to straighten up her life and so we will start to meet with her here soon! YAY! The work does continue to press forward! :) Life is wonderful here in Montpelier! So, on to our hike! We went hiking this morning and it was cold... not unusual, but it was snowing as we were hiking! It was so much fun though. :) And while we were hiking we were able to see a moose! It was way cool! It was pretty far away but we were still able to see it! We had a lot of fun! :)
So, I dont have a lot to report today because I was able to talk to you yesterday. But this week consisted of a lot of service. A lot of people are into the spring cleaning and they ask us to help them. So, that is what we have been doing a lot of this week. Also, I taught a member how to sew! That was pretty exciting! :) But, honestly, that is about all for this week! :)
But before I ended this really really short email I wanted to share a quote with you and also a video...
"Each of you should strive to be the person that you can become - the person who God wants you to be. the day will come when your professional career will end. The career that you will have labored so hard to achieve - the work that will have supported you and your family - will one day be behind you. then you will have learned this great lesson; much more important than what you do for a living is what kind of person you become. when you leave this frail existence, what you have become will matter most. Attributes such as faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, and diligence, will all be weighed in the Lord balance." - Russell M. Nelson
I hope that as you all continue to come closer to Christ that you develop attributes that are like His. I love my Savior and I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to work on those attributes each and every day. I am not perfect at all, but through the Atonement and through repentance, I can become perfect and become more like Him.

Thank you so much for all that you do! I love you all so much and please know that I pray for you each and every day. :) I hope that you all have a wonderful week! I will have a better email next week! I promise! :)
Love,
Sister Ashley Halbison
