Let the miracles be seen!

Companion: Sister Madsen

This week has been one crazy week and we have been super busy! Which is a super good thing! :) I enjoy staying busy and it makes the weeks go by faster. Well, I dont have much time today because we have a lot to do. Lots of places to go today. I hope that we can get it all done. Today we are going to play lazer tag with our zone and we also get to go skating! Yay! I am super excited about that! It should be fun! Well, I guess I will start with what has gone on this week!
Last Monday was fun as always! We played... guess what!!! GATOR BALL! YES! I should probably stop playing because my shoulder is getting pretty bad. :/ I actually have an appointment with the shoulder specialist because it is actually getting worse and not better. I tried to not go. But it has been a month since I hurt it and at times I cant lift my arm enough to put on my coat. :( I know... Something is always wrong with me. But I tried to do all that I could to help it! I am actually putting on essential oils! Haha but I am pretty sure that they are doing nothing for me. Lol Lets see, oh we also got numbers for our mission on Monday. And even though they will probably mean nothing to you I am going to share them with you. Haha So, in our mission we have had 72 baptisms in the month of September, 518 baptisms this year and we have 214 dates set as a mission right now! That I so good! We are doing so good as a mission! :)
Tuesday was a pretty eventful day! We woke up and we started to do our exercises and I was laying on the ground looking at the ceiling and when I was looking up there I saw that there was a spider on the ceiling. So, what did I do?? I took a ping pong ball and I decided to throw it and try and hit the spider. I didnt think that it would hit the ceiling because well, its a ping pong ball and you would have to be pretty skilled to hit the ceiling with it! But, I guess I was skilled because I hit it! And the spider fell down and it landed on me! Well, I thought it did. It landed right next to me. But when it fell I jumped up and I started jumping up and down to make sure that it wasnt on me. Yeah, Sister Madsen was laughing at me the whole time. I was laughing too! But I was a little nervous! Well, we also had district meeting and it was really good. It was fun as always! :) I really enjoy our district. We have the best district in the mission! :) We are doing awesome! We also saw Jesse and Brittany because Brittany had a tooth pulled and she was in a lot of pain and she was wanting some comfort. So we went over there and shared a scripture and we left them with a prayer! :) They were really happy that we stopped by.
Wednesday I started my second journal! YAY! :) Wednesday we found out that our area is going to be split. So instead of covering 6 wards. we are only going to cover 4 wards. Which is good because we need someone working full time in the 1st, 5th, and 9th wards. We just have too much work in the other wards and dont have time to spend over there. So, it will be good to have that as a new area. They are going to put elders in the area and we were telling all of the ward mission leaders and the bishops and they are sad about it. But it will be good! We got a new investigator named Mike! he is pretty cool. He is retired and he was in the vitnam war! He is looking for a religion that will help him spiritually and also give him a social life. And we told him that he came to the right place! :) We also taught a little boy named Tyler. He is nine and he was wanting to get baptized! And we are so excited for him. he is in the 5th ward, so the Elders will get to teach him. So that will be good for the elders to have an investigator when they come into the area. We also taught the Randalls! It went really well! We taught then the 10 commandments and the word of wisdom and they are doing great! Josh said that he drinks a little wine every once in awhile but he said that he would stop drinking it! YAY! They are golden investigators! We are so excited for their baptism!
Thursday... Oh, the joys of Thursdays. This is not like any other Thursday. Of couse we had our weekly planning. And during our weekly planning we took a break to eat lunch. And during out lunch break, we received a call from the assistance. And when I saw that name pop up on the screen, I was so nervous. I was hoping that they were calling to let us know more about what will be happening to our area. But no, he started out the conversation as.. "Well sister Halbison, President Brinkerhoff and the Lord have been very pleased with the work that you have been doing in the Highland area. And they need you to open a new area and train a new missionary. And you will be serving in the Eagle Rock stake in Idao Falls." Right when heaid my name, I started crying because I knew what he was going to say. Sister Madsen and I cried for probably about two hours and we had the hardest time doing our weekly planning after that. Sister Madsen and I have gotten really close and I am so sad that I have to leave her. I have enjoyed getting to know her and we have become best friends. Her and I will most definitely hang out after the mission! :) After we received the call, I decided to clean out my desk and start packing. Uhhh.. I have no idea how I am going to pack everything. Just my desk stuff fit in my carry on! Wish me luck! :) We also had to go with Sister McKnight beacuse her comp has been really sick and she needed someone to go to appointments with her. So we were able to do that. And we also had to go on splits. So, that was awesome! :) That was the first time that I have had to go on splits on my mission. And that means that we are getting too busy! YAY! Haha.
Friday was a good day. We had the normal morning. Then we went and saw Sara and talked with her a little and let her know that I was being transferred. She was sad. But its to be expected because well, lets face it, im awesome! Haha just kidding! Then we went over the the Parrishs and we made some of this yummy chex mix stuff! :) And we brought it to conference and it was gone so fast! Everyone loved it! Then we went out and started to go visit some people. And when we were walking down the street there were leaves all over! and they were changing colors and they were so pretty! And I was so excited because I have never seen the leaves change colors before! So, what did I do!? I picked them up! And I took them!!!! Haha and I was so excited and I taped them so I could have them! :) I am so excited to have the different seasons here!
Saturday and Sunday were about the same. We got together with our zone and we watched conference and it was so good! I love being able to hear from the prophet and his apostles! they are all so amazing! And I love that the talks went together really well. And It is amazing that they are not assigned topics. I think that it would be really stressful having to do that! Lol. :) I will just skip to Sunday. We had an awsesome lesson with a less active family. We really knew nothing about this family other then the fact that the husband hardly went to church. And we were teaching them the restoration and when we got to the end I was talking a lot about the priesthood and how important it is and how we need to be worthy to have it in our lives. And I talked more about it then I usually do. And I wasnt really sure why. But I noticed that as I was talking about it the dad was about to cry. So, I know that I focused on the priesthood for a reason and that it was something that the dad needed to hear. I am so grateful for the spirit and leading me in that lesson! And I am so grateful for the priesthood and the blessings that I have received from the priesthood. Without the priesthood I wouldnt be baptized, I wouldnt be able to go to the temple, and I would not be able to serve a mission. I am so grateful that I have a dad who holds the priesthood and who is able to give me blessings when I am home and need comfort. I have a very strong testimony of the priesthood and I am very happy that it is in my life with the men who are worthy to hold it! :)
Well, That is all I have time for this week! I love you all and I hope to hear from some of you soon! I have only received one letter the past two weeks :( I need some lovin! :) Have a great week! :)
Love,
Sister Ashley Halbison
