Pocatello, Idaho
Companion: Sister Barnett
This week was yet another amazing week! We have seen so many blessings! :D I will start out with the beginning of my week. Monday: We went to zone activity after we did our weekly shopping. And at zone activity I was able to throw the football around a little! It was actually a lot of fun. Im not too bad at throwing if I do say so myself.. But catching the football is another story that we dont need to talk about ;) After zone activity we went over to the Records for a BBQ and that was a lot of fun. Then we went and saw a few people and then went home and made cheese cake. It is probably the best cheese cake i have ever had... Next to Heather and Dustins of course!
Tuesday we went and saw the lady that was baptized three weeks ago and that day is was raining and it was pretty cold and so we were talking with her about how nice it would be to have hot chocolate when we got home that night. So she looked around the house to see if she had any and she didnt and she felt bad. So guess what... When we got home that night there was a box of hot chocolate on the porch! What a sweetheart! The people here are so nice and I love them all!
Wednesday was AWESOME! We had zone conference and Elder Clarke from the seventy came and talked to us and he is so funny and very blunt! And everything that he had to say made me want to be a better missionary. But I think that the best way to describe Wednesday is to just write what I wrote in my journal.... When I get home I do not want to regret anything. I dont want to say... I should have done that or what if I did this? I want to share the gospel with everyone, It has brought me so much happiness and I want others to experience the same happiness. I want Heavenly Fathers children to know that they can live with him again and be with their families forever. Something that really stuck with me today while I was at zone conference is that when you knock on a door and before they even open the door. Tell yourself that this person is a child of God and that you love them. Then, when they open the door they will see the love that you have not only for them, but also for the gospel. I really have learned so much while I have been on my mission. Things that I would not have been able to learn if I stayed home, I know that I am suppose to be here on my mission in Pocatello Idaho and I would not give this experiance up for anything. I love my family, but I am leaving them for a year and a half so that others can be with theirs for eternity. I love this gospel with all my heart and as I continue to learn more about it everyday, I grow to love it even more.
Thursday I will just take what I wrote in my journal as well. So many prayers were answered, we were able to contact so many people and I know that the reason we were able to see so many people was because of Heavenly Father, Sister Barnett and I have really been doing our best in everything that we do and I have been asking day and night to find more people to teach and today I have seen so many prayers answered. This morning a young man named Anthony had text us asking if he could meet with us weekly and of course we said yes. We were beyond excited! But then blessing do not end there we were able to meet a young lady named Allie Laroy and she told us that we could come back and see her... (then it continues with all the people we saw) But that day really showed me how Heavenly Father does answer our prayers if we are obedient to the commandments and do everything that we know that we should do. And I will continue to live the commandments because I want to continue to receive blessings! :)
Friday: Here is a little part of my journal entry that day.. Sister Barnett and I were talking about something the other day that I did not write down. We were talking about how we need to stay obedient. We need to stay close to our Father in Heaven because Satan is trying to attack us because he knows that the work we are doing is important. Satan may be attacking us, but we cant feel it because 1. we are set apart as missionaries and 2. because we are staying obedient. So, I need to keep all the commandments and that is not hard at all!
I am running out of time so I have to make Saturday and Sunday very short. Saturday we were able to attend two baptisms. And Sunday we were able to go to two sacrament meetings and that was great! We had a lesson with Anthony and guess what!! We set a baptismal date! We are so excited! This kid is golden!! :D
Well, I do need to go! I love you all and I am so thankful for the love and support that you all show!! I hope all is going well! And I hope to hear from all of you soon!!
CONGRATULATIONS KIRK AND BROOKE!!!! I better get pictures!!!! :D
Love Sister Ashley Halbison
